Born
and raised in a small Texas town, she discovered the
glamour and pizazz of
old hollywood at the tender age of 8. Mesmerized by the MGM
musicals, she
developed a passion for classic cinema, and soon began idolizing
the male
and female film legends of yesteryear. Born a brunette, she
particularly
remembers being drawn to the blonde actresses, as in her young
mind,
their gleaming locks signified being a shining, electric star!
Although she
loved them all..Jean Harlow, Lana Turner, Betty Grable, Jayne
Mansfield
..one of them spoke to her in particular..Marilyn Monroe. She
recalls the first time she came across one of her movies on
tv..Some Like It Hot, and watched
the goddess in her rendition of "I Wanna Be Loved By You"
Seeing the way
she captured the audience with a perfect mix of approcable
innocence, and
sensuality, she instantlly became an idol of hers, and so began a
lifelong
admiration. At age 19, she began modeling in the syle of "neo-
pinup"
a modern version of the classic 1940's war time pinups, ala
Vargas and Elvgren. Still a brunette, she came to the conclusion
that something seemed
to be missing, and realized she had never quite overcome the
desire to have
platinum hair. A few bottles of peroxide later, the once raven
haired lass became
a blondie, and she hasn't looked back since! From the moment
she stepped out
with her new 'do, she was repeatedly stopped by excited
admirers who
commented that she looked exactly like the late Miss Monroe.
Extremely
flattered, and excited by the new look and admiration, she began
extensive
training to become a Marilyn Look-Alike and Sound-Alike. Some
people have
been known to say the resemblance with look and voice, is
simply "eerie" and
to her, that is the highest compliment an impersonator can
recieve! Several
performances later, she has created an intoxicating torch singer
style
performance of song and dance., Her show consists of live (no
lipsyncing)
singing, and lively audience
participation.
