As a, vocalist and guitarist, became interested in

entertaining

at an early age. Raised in Brooklyn, his mother

began taking him on the

subway to Radio City Music Hall when he was as

young as 10. He and his

mother would arrive early in order to sit in the

front row and they enjoyed

many of the singers and dancers of that era.

At about 15 or 16, he had already become

proficient on the guitar

and he began performing country-western

music. He made appearances at

local taverns in New York, singing and playing

the country hits

of the time.

During his early years on the east coast, he

organized his own band.

After being told many times that he “sounded

and looked

just like Dean Martin”, he began studying Dean’s

style of singing,

his mannerisms and his “look”.
